Cracking day considering the weather we had been having, tough wee uphill sprint finish at the end, tried to break away a few times only to get chased down. :P :P

Great result Matt, well done.

Was it an APR or a RR ? what was the distance ? All the more info then the better the report Kenny can put into the telegraph.

Cheers John

It was a Cat 4 road race, about 44 miles, nice rolling start for a few miles, then onto an lumpy 11 mile circuit, 3 laps of that then a climb back to the finish. Some of the roads were pretty bad and there was a crazy single lane bit that was really dusty,
Kennny you've probably ridden that course?

Hi Matt,

surprised it was a cat 4 race as I recognise one name that won the only cat 4 race I have ever done. Once you have moved above cat 4, you cannot go back to it, hence the surprise.

Cheers John

Hi Matt,

I think if he entered the race before he was a 3rd cat then that is ok. The rules may even have changed in that if you start off the season as a 4th cat then you can continue to race 4th cat events, these rules may even be race specific.

It's a possibility that they opened the race up to 3rd cata and above late on due to lack of entries as I've seen that happen a few times.

Cheers John

Once your a Cat 3, you never go back to Cat 4.
The cat 4 race would have to be at least reg B to award points, that was a go race, no points. :)
I suppose if he entered before he achieved the ponits there there wouldnt be a problem.
