Me and Gerry did it, good work out, what a day, to think 2 weeks ago (maybe 3) it was snowing. :)
There were 4 groups, i went in group 3, Gerry was in group 2, there was a 2 rider break that stayed away for the last 2 laps, one of the riders managed to keep it going and just got 2nd place. There's another Barmill APR in 3 weeks time, Saturday 1st May.

A brilliant day....warm & sunny with a light breeze, which got a bit stronger as the day went on.... - 44 riders, 6 laps of 9 mile rectangular curcuit around the Defence estates... road surfaces pretty poor, with a fair number of punctures... me included

Was riding much stronger than of late, but it was hard going coming out of the slow corners, (which really stretched the bunch out) unless you were near the front of the bunch. Group 1 was only 3 riders, with a 4 minute gap, and were caught by Group 2 (18 riders) after 1 lap. Group 3 (18 riders i think) were off 2 min behing Group 2 and caught up by lap 3 - circa 28 miles...

I did a hard spell on the front at around 4 1/2 laps and got caught out, still recovering when we hit the hill fast and i slipped back, and was just dropped by the Group 2 / 3 bunch at the very top.

Rode on, and was caught by the scratch group of 6 - off 2 mim behind group 3 (swelled by a couple) after 3 miles and jumped on. We worked hard and after another 6 miles, caught the main field at top of aforementioned hill - hung on - got over still with the bunch and hit a pothole when on the gas out of the corner , causing a pinch flat on the rear at 43 miles (about half way round lap 5) , and the service car was out of spares. day over....

A good day training, speed coming, everyone working well.... Don't think i'll make 1st May tho, but well worth doing...
